Community is at the heart of everything we do. Whether it’s shaping new ones in order to create brighter futures, or supporting existing ones so as to create better prospects.

One way we are fulfilling this mission, and further growing our rich philanthropic history, is by supporting local social enterprise café and florist, L’Arte Central in ensuring our very own City of Casey continues to flourish. This charitable eatery exists to promote training, employment and participation opportunities for our most at-risk and disadvantaged community members – a noble cause that resonates strongly with our own civic values.

To help in its bid to transform lives, Balcon Group has pledged to purchase 100 meals per week from L’Arte Central. Since we made this pledge more than a year ago, thousands of meals have been provided to the city’s most vulnerable, sustaining them through one of the most difficult years in Melbourne’s history.

Not only do we do this in an effort to empower people with hope (and a full stomach), but to alleviate the hardship caused by a challenging 2020 that saw the hospitality industry suffer one of the biggest blows of all. This ensures employment opportunities are still readily available for those who need them most.
