A beautiful community begins with a dream and its success is reliant on the collaborative efforts of an extensive project team with a shared vision.
The delivery of Orana is led by the Balcon Group – a family owned property development and construction company that has been delivering successful residential, commercial and industrial projects since 1981.
At the helm of Balcon Group is General Manager Jason Shaw, who said Balcon’s philosophy is staying true to its vision and consistently deliver great community outcomes with a likeminded project team.
“Over many years, Balcon Group has formed a close team of consultants and contractors specialising in a range of professional disciplines including civil engineering and construction, urban planning and design, landscape architecture, cultural heritage and environmental science,” Jason said.
Sustainability is at the very heart and soul of Orana’s design, with the estate being awarded the ultimate 6-Leaf EnviroDevelopment accreditation from the Urban Development Institute of Australia that takes into account ecosystems, materials, waste, energy, water and community.
Jason describes South-East Melbourne’s biggest masterplanned development as both diverse and inclusive. Designed to encourage community interaction and engagement, Orana boasts 11 hectares of wetlands plus six parks, each with its own distinctive design theme.
“The design of Orana is intended to bring people together and encourage the use of public spaces including streets and parks. Having so much amenity within Orana will enable people to make local connections which is the foundation for a strong and supportive community.” In Jason’s words – bike paths/walkable community
